FFBW Founders Honored by the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation
The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) honored our founders, Beatriz Illescas Claugus and Tom Claugus, with the Chairman’s Award at the organization’s 15th annual Connoisseur’s Dinner at Sotheby’s in New York City. The ADDF bestowed Beatriz and Tom with the award for their continued support and furthering of the ADDF’s goals.
“Tonight, we had the pleasure of honoring two wonderful humanitarians and philanthropists, Beatriz and Tom Claugus, who came to the ADDF a few years ago ready to drive our mission forward and help us find drugs to cure Alzheimer’s disease,” said Leonard A. Lauder, Co-Founder of the ADDF. “It’s been a wonderful partnership, and Ronald and I are so grateful for their continued philanthropy and leadership.”
Past award winners include Fabrizio Freda, president and CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.; Tad Smith, former president and CEO of Sotheby’s; and Emmy-award-winning journalist Paula Zahn.
The award highlights the fruitful partnership between the ADDF and FFBW. Since 2018, the ADDF and FFBW have partnered in our efforts to fund medical research and clinical trials to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. In 2021, the FFBW honored the ADDF and its co-founder and Chief Science Officer, Howard Fillit, with the inaugural Claugus Award.
